Assemble the Venus Termite Traps by slotting the wood bait packs into the underside of the green plastic bait box. Place the green lid on top of the plastic bait box.

Step 3 a: Soil installations

  Install the Venus Termite Traps:
Place the Venus Termite Traps Unit into your garden beds, lawn or slot into your paving, making sure they are no further than 4.6m apart from each other.

Pour a 40mm wide by approximately 40mm deep collar around the Venus Trap of basic mortar and wet it down. Suitable in soil or pavers.

Step 3 b: Concrete installations

If your house has surrounding concrete pathways, the Venus Termite Traps can be installed in the soil on the outside of the concrete. If the concrete goes to the boundary of the property, protection is gained by drilling the concrete with a 77mm core drill. Place the wood into the holes created then place the metal lid over the hole and screw the lid down. The bottom of the lid expands to fit the hole, which makes the lid secure in the concrete.

Step 4 - Regular inspection procedure

Following installation a regular inspection of the external traps need to be done at least every 3 months to check for termite activity. Please subscribe to the Venus Termite Trap Pest Free Reminder System, which will email you every 3 months to remind you to check your traps.

To inspect your Venus Termite Traps:
Remove the green lid and look at the wood for evidence of termites. If termite activity is evident in any of the traps, you will need to purchase and install the John French Baiting Trap. If there is no evidence of termites, place the lid back on the traps.

To inspect your Venus Termite Traps for concrete areas, unscrew the lids and check for termites. If termites are present, you also will need to purchase the appropriate John French Baiting material.

Step 5 - Treatment to eradicate termites:

Once you have purchased and received the John French Baiting Trap, you can apply treatment to eradicate the termite problem.

Take off the inner green lid from the bait box and place the John French Baiting Trap on top of the affected trap and screw the corners down to secure the trap in place.

Over time the termite colonies will take the treated bait and will die off. At this point the John French Baiting trap can be removed.

After applying the John French termite eradication treatment please check the traps each week over the following month. If termite activity still evident, a second John French Baiting Trap treatment should be applied.
